The first of two apartment towers at the $600 million redevelopment project East Market is ready for its first tenants, with the announcement that it will open its doors in March.
The Ludlow East Market, as it’s called, is an 18-story building at 1101 Ludlow that just started leasing its 322 apartments through Greystar. It’s made up of studios, one-bedrooms, and two-bedrooms whose interiors were designed by New York-based K&Co. BLT Architects is the building’s lead architect.
The March opening of the Ludlow is the latest step forward at East Market, which has already started to transform the Market East retail corridor. Already, tenants have set up shop at the development, including Mom’s Organic Market, the Design Center, Bohlin Cywynski Jackson, and National Development.
The Ludlow’s opening, though, is a major step forward for the project, since it will fulfill the “live” portion of East Market’s live, work, shop, and dine dynamic, bringing the first residents to the development.
All of the units feature floor-to-ceiling windows, closets with built-in Elfa storage, gas GE stoves, and in-unit laundry. Here’s a sneak peek at two of the staged apartments, courtesy of National Development:

Along with the in-unit features, the Ludlow comes with a long list of amenities:
- 24/7 concierge
- Outdoor terrace with barbeque stations and a fire pit
- Resident lounge on the third floor
- Underground parking
- Co-working lounge
- Fitness center
- Yoga studio
Living at the amenity-packed apartment building comes at a premium: Monthly rents range from $1,910 to $3,395.
The second, taller apartment tower is expected to open next to the Ludlow later this year. Along with 180 apartments, it will be home to a Wawa, City Fitness, Little Baby’s Ice Cream, District Taco, and a ROOST Hotel. Iron Hill Brewery is also opening at East Market.
