Welcome back to Curbed Comparisons, a dive into the options available for a certain price point in various Philly neighborhoods. How many beds can you get in Roxborough versus Kensington? Let’s find out! Today’s price point: around $1,200 a month.
Fairmount (0 bed, 1 bath)—Just blocks from the art museum, parkway and even the Eastern State Penitentiary, this recently-renovated studio apartment has hardwood floors, a walk-in closet and a washer and dryer in unit. There’s space enough in the kitchen for a dining area—a hard find in some studio apartments—and a fitness center in the building.
Center City (0 bed, 1 bath)—Live in the heart of the city at this Center City studio, which has a bedroom-area with windows that look out over the city, an adjacent living area and a small kitchen for $1,195 a month. An added bonus: the apartment is pet-friendly.
Roxborough (2 bed, 1 bath)—Travel up north to find a home that will give you several rooms for your price point. This two-bed apartment in the Metropolitan Roxborough apartments offers oak cabinetry, well-lit rooms and 800 feet of space.
Fishtown (2 bed, 1 bath)—Another option that offers more space for the same price point—in this case, $1,210—is this Fishtown apartment, which has two bedrooms and balconies that look out over the neighborhood. In addition to the space, it has a granite-countertop kitchen, sleek hardwood floors and a washer and dryer in the unit.
Kensington (1 bed, 1 bath)—Kensington is becoming an increasingly popular neighborhood, and this sleek, one-bedroom apartment might explain why. It’s got a long living and dining area that empties out into a kitchen with white quartz countertops and recessed lighting. A bedroom in the back has high ceilings and sliding glass doors that open out to a private balcony.
