Gladwyne manor with guest cottage asks $2.6M

It’s a stone-clad structure with five beds

Melissa Klick, BHHS Fox Roach

Tucked away on three acres of land in Gladwyne, there’s this stone-clad home that has several elements of a colonial-style mansion.

The five-bed, four-and-a-half-bath home offers 5,700 square feet of old school elegance, from the stone exterior, to the It opens to a large foyer, with a grand wood staircase and sleek tile floors. Off the foyer there’s the living room, which features plenty of oversized windows and hardwood floors. Another door opens to the gourmet kitchen, which has a butler’s pantry, warming drawer and a double oven.

The home has a special treat—alongside its stunning interior—it also features a separate guest cottage that looks like something out of a fairy tale with a dormer roof and green stone siding. The cottage is outfitted with everything, from a fully-functioning kitchen and hardwood-floor living room, to a second-floor bedroom accessible via spiral staircase.

The impressive home was built in 1930 and designed by Philly architect Erling H. Pederson and still has its original, century-old charm (and amenities). In addition to the house and cottage, there’s a pool, a four-car garage, gardens, stables, and yet another living space above the garage.

Check out the whole place at an open house Saturday from noon to 2 p.m.
