Eccentric South Philly home with mirror-clad walls asks $400K

There are four beds and a finished basement (with a fireplace).

It’s no secret that South Philly has a lot of three-story, brick-exterior homes. But every once in a while you’ll come across one that’s taken the layout and made it just a bit different.

That’s the case with 2237 S. 12th Street, a four-bed, three-bath home that’s blocks from the Snyder Avenue Station. It offers 2,500 square feet of space and a whole lot of character.

It starts as soon as you walk inside; a large wood door opens into a living room with hardwood floors, a fireplace with mirrors above, and wood trim throughout. Frosted glass panes separate the living area from a dining space, which features an entire wall of mirrors.

In the back of the home, there’s a massive kitchen and an enclosed back patio.

A wood staircase with deep purple carpeting leads upstairs to bedrooms on the second and third floor. The master bathroom features more wall-to-wall mirrors, a bidet, and a deep tub. Plus, there’s an added bonus to the place: a finished basement with a bar, bathroom, and brick fireplace.

The home was built in 1925 but has since undergone complete renovations.
