A week devoted to cleaning up and enjoying Philly’s parks kicks off this weekend, with 100 parks and green spaces across the city participating.
The biannual “Love Your Park” week is the result of a partnership between Philadelphia Parks & Recreation, Fairmount Park Conservancy, and the Philadelphia Park Friends Network, who encourage Philadelphians to get outside and celebrate their parks. Over 2,500 people are expected to participate this weekend, according to a statement on the event.
The week starts tomorrow with a volunteer service day and continues through the next eight days with activities like bike rides, plant sales, a pop-up play, and tons of other free events in Philly parks.
Residents can also pick a park and register to volunteer in the clean up efforts one day this coming week.
