Victorian gem in Tulpehocken Historic District wants $530K

It’s from the late 1800s

Christopher Santaniello

Tucked away in one of the prettiest parts of Germantown—Tulpehocken Historic District—is this late 19th century stunner, which just came on the market for $530,000.

The seven-bed, two-bath spot at 431 West Walnut Lane still has plenty of its original 1885 details, like hardwood floors, leaded windows and six tiled fireplaces. But parts of the home have been updated for current styles, too. Specifically the kitchen, which was completely renovated last year and includes a marble countertop island and plenty of natural light.

There’s room enough for two cars at the off-street parking, and the house is a quick walk from public transit to take you into Center City. The home is being shown by Matthew Ochs of Space and Company.
