A 24-story luxury tower is coming to Center City, catering exclusively to the “baby boomer” community.
Preliminary plans for the tower, which will go up at 12th and Sansom, were released last week by developers Benchmark Wellness Management. The Boston-based group, which is collaborating with Brickstone on the project, aims to develop residential buildings for people over 62-years-old, according to a statement from the group. This is their first project.
The building will have 220 luxury apartments ranging from 800 to 1,400 square feet. Building amenities focus on a “wellness lifestyle” with a spa, salon, barbershop, heated pool, and yoga classes. There’s also a Pickleball court included in the building. A bistro is planned for the rooftop, and a farm-to-table restaurant is planned for the fifth floor.
Denise McQuaide, COO of Benchmark says Center City, with its local restaurants and arts scene, is a natural pick for the company’s next building.
“We hand-picked Philadelphia for our first development because its Center City revitalization has not only captured our attention but also the interest of local and suburban boomers who are passionate about living the lifestyle of their dreams”
The site is currently home to a parking garage.
