Amenities galore

The massive East Market project is continuing its takeover of one Center City block, bringing high-end apartments, restaurants, and more to the 12th Street space.

And just this week we got a look inside one of its most awaited developments: The Girard.

Bringing 240, one- to two-bed apartments to 12th and Ludlow, the 23-story tower offers luxury residential units with plenty of amenities. It opened with the rest of the East Market development last November, and has leased out nearly 66 percent of its apartments already, according to developers.

The dark grey exterior of the building is a sharp contrast to its interior, which is full of light hardwood floors and tables, live plants, and plenty of modern light fixtures, seating, and fireplaces.

Much of the apartment building is geared toward the 20 to 30-something crowd, with perks like a children’s playroom, and a mini dog park on the third floor.

The Amenities

Amenities include a full fitness area, with a yoga/bar studio; several outside grilling stations; a full, 25-yard lap pool (which is heated all year round); and a small garden where residents can claim plots to plant herbs and vegetables. There’s also a demo kitchen, lounge, and reading nook.

The Apartments

There’s also a lot to see in the apartments, themselves. They all have oak floors, quartz countertops, and a wall of windows that look out over City Hall or other Center City attractions.

Apartments range from one-rooms starting at 580 square feet, to two bedrooms reaching 1,240 square feet large. The prices range between $2,100 to $4,400.
