Set to open in August, this hotel is designed to accomodate long term travellers. It's situated right next door to the convention center, so its fate is probably tied to the convention center's.

Courtyard Marriott at the Navy Yard

Following the migration of several corporate headquarters to the Navy Yard, it only makes sense that a large, business hotel would follow. The Courtyard Marriott is set to open in December.

Hotel Monaco

Even though the Hotel Monaco has only been open since October of last year, it has quickly made a name for itself and brightened up the somewhat stodgy Philly hotel scene.

This hotel certainly didn't open in the last year, but it did complete a serious makeover: 1,200 rooms got redone, in addition to a serious meeting space overhaul and a redesigned connector bridge to the Convention Center.
