The Philadelphia Hotel Heatmap
1. Home 2 Suites by Hilton
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 19107
Set to open in August, this hotel is designed to accomodate long term travellers. It's situated right next door to the convention center, so its fate is probably tied to the convention center's.
2. Courtyard Marriott at the Navy Yard
Philadelphia, PA 19112
Following the migration of several corporate headquarters to the Navy Yard, it only makes sense that a large, business hotel would follow. The Courtyard Marriott is set to open in December.
3. Hotel Monaco
Philadelphia, PA 19106
Even though the Hotel Monaco has only been open since October of last year, it has quickly made a name for itself and brightened up the somewhat stodgy Philly hotel scene.

4. Philadelphia Marriott Downtown
This hotel certainly didn't open in the last year, but it did complete a serious makeover: 1,200 rooms got redone, in addition to a serious meeting space overhaul and a redesigned connector bridge to the Convention Center.
5. Latham Hotel
Last June, the Latham Hotel reopened, after completing a total renovation of all 139 guest rooms, and renewing the lobby.
6. Homewood Suites by Hilton
Philadelphia, PA 19104
Until the Homewood Suites opened up in University City, there were no major hotels in the area. Now, the 136 unit hotel caters to those on university business.
