Cross your fingers, bikers, trail-blazers, and bus-birders of Philadelphia. Plan Philly reports that Wissahickon Valley Park could stretch another six acres come fall, if City Council grants authorization for the city to accept a donation from the Natural Lands Trust.
Via Plan Philly:
A bill allowing the city to accept the land, at 7900 Cherokee Street in the Northwest, was introduced by Councilwoman Cindy Bass in the spring. The Planning Commission recommended approval of the bill, but it has yet to go through a committee hearing in City Council. Until City Council reconvenes in the fall, and hopefully gives us more Wissahickon to run wild in, Curbed's map of underrated Philly-area parks should keep you busy.
